St Brides ladies GFC was founded on 22nd February 2006 to establish ladies football in the parish of Knockbridge, for the growing number of girls who were interested in playing football.
In this, our first season we competed in u-10, u-12 and u-14 competitions. Our u-12's made it to the championship and league finals in 2006 a considerable achievement for our first season. After replays and extra time they surrendered to a more experienced Roche Team. This set the marker for the following years. In 2007 we captured the Celtic Cup and the U-14 league. 2008 saw the club crowned U-12 league and championship winners, U-14 Feile and league winners, U-13's retained the Celtic Cup. For the first time a St Brides team would be representing the county in Feile na nOg, which took place in Cavan.
The 2012 season has started with our adult team playing Division 2 league football, having been promoted from Division 3 last season. U-14 and U-16 teams are about to start their competitions, while our U-12's have to wait until the end of March for their season to begin. Our U-10's will take part in non-competitive blitzes in May-August.
