Much work has been done over the past number of year on the development of juveniles section of St Brides GFC. The club has been very fortunate to have had Lorcan O'hUallachain overseeing the underage structure in St. Marys National School for twenty seven years. During his career there were many teams in the school, in Boys and Girls Football, Hurling and Camogie, who won numerous County Finals. The last team under his care won the U-13 County Final in 2006, the same team to emerge as the successful Louth minor team of 2011. This team is the culmination of 10 years of work at underage level and thankfully in 2011 the work has paid dividends. In 2006 the baton was passed to new headmaster Brian McDonnell. Brian also comes from a GAA background, and he too is continuing the great work in the school, assisting in the development of these young players, and cherishing the school's proud tradition.
The club has always participated in games for children from U12-U18, but over the past number of years the club has been extremely successful in developing players at a younger age. In the past U7-U13 has been developed primarily in the school, but over the past number of years the club has worked very hard with the younger age group. Now we have both school and club working together to develop the children's skill. Large numbers of children are now in the squads from U7 to U12.
